Done pairs an NFL ambassador with a testimonial that echoes self-diagnosis
Step by step
- 1Halo effect
J.T. Thomas III, "Former NFL player, Done Brand Ambassador".
- 2Social proof
"Over 40% of our patients reported their symptoms improved" (company-reported).
The psychology
Why it nudges
Done uses two biases. First the halo effect (Nisbett & Wilson 1977): "Former NFL player, Done Brand Ambassador" J.T. Thomas III says getting help "was the best thing I ever did". Sporting fame implies nothing about clinical quality. Second, confirmation bias (Nickerson 1998): under the "I'm not sure if I have ADHD" path, the chosen testimonial is "I always thought that I had ADHD but did not know how to get started", which echoes a visitor's existing suspicion. The page also says "Over 40% of our patients reported their symptoms improved during their first month with Done", a company-reported figure; the page doesn't show how it was measured. Whether these lift sign-ups is not public.

Steal this, honestly
- If you use an ambassador, label them as one, as Done does.
- For people unsure about a diagnosis, show a testimonial from someone who found they did not need treatment too.
What to test: Ambassador quote vs clinician credentials in the same slot. Measure assessment starts and completed appointments.

ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Cursor open with the prompt filled in (it is also copied, in case the prefill doesn't load). Gemini and Codex don't support prefilled links, so the prompt is copied and the app opens; paste it in.
